SMART WORK – GETTING THINGS DONE WITHOUT STRESS AND DISTRACTION

Productivity and well-being are not opposites – they complement each other. A modern workplace should activate their synergies reducing stress, waste and distraction while increasing focus, fitness and motivation. This goal can only be achieved by considering our talents, needs and limitations. By adjusting the way we work to the people and by managing our mental and physical energies, productivity thrives along with satisfaction.

 

This workshop bundles scientific research and practical experience to provide in-depth answers and practical advice for the following questions:

What talents, needs and limitations influence productivity?

Before we can align the work to the people we have to understand what people are like, using research from psychology, neuroscience and behavioral economics as well as management experience and – which is neglected surpisingly often – common sense. Participants will receive practical understanding of our mental capabilities, including memory, willpower, emotional resources and cognitive biases, and of our physical needs, like sleeping, eating and excercise.

How can we manage our mental and emotional energies better?

Participants will receive insights, methods and hacks to successfully deal with the following problems:

 

– How can we effectively reduce stress and increase renewal?
– What can we do against procrastination and increase motivation?
– How can we minimize distraction and focus better?
– How can we replace harmful habits with positive ones?
– Is multitasking working? And if not – how should I work instead?
– What can we do against digital dementia?

How can we manage our physical energies better?

Participants will receive insights, methods and hacks to successfully deal with the following problems:

 

– What is the right amount of sleep we need?
– How should we eat to be most productive?
– How should we arrange my workplace for a more creative output?
– How many breaks should we make?
– (How) should I excercise?

The workshop is preceded by a discussion about the individual needs of you and your company. It offers insights, examples and practical excercises. Participants will receive the certificate Productivity and Well-Being. Lunch, snacks and course materials are included as well as a lot of fun.
